Supporting a good cause makes everyone feel good, and when you can do so while attending an enjoyable event, that’s an appreciated bonus. Coming up at Ruth’s Chris Steak House on January 30th, there will be an opportunity for both during the luncheon to benefit The Ovarian Cancer Circle which was inspired Robin A. Babbini, a young woman who lost her battle with ovarian cancer in 2006 when she was just 20 years old. Tickets for the event are available in advance for $45 each and include a steak lunch with salad, vegetable, and dessert as well as entry into a raffle. Vegetarian options are also available on request. The event runs from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The Ovarian Cancer Circle helps raise awareness about the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer and is working to find an early detection test for the disease, as one does not yet exist.
While any loss of life is difficult, seeing someone so young struggle with a disease is a devastating and eye opening experience. At 20, most people feel a bit invincible, as if nothing could happen to seriously compromise their health, But Robin’s story is just one example of why it is important to have good health, disability, and life insurance at every age.
